GIVEAWAY: Advanced Reader Copies of “Operation Lionhearted”!

Honestly, I still can’t quite believe I’m at this point–but it’s finally here! I have five advanced reader copies (ARCs) of my novel–three paperbacks and two digital copies–waiting for new readers!

MANY thanks to my brother Ben for this beautiful book photography!

Now before we go any further, let me remind everyone that this is NOT the final version of Operation Lionhearted. For one thing, the cover image is NOT the final one (that’ll be revealed in September!), and for another, the manuscript can be tweaked if absolutely necessary–i.e., I can still correct any stray typos and/or formatting issues within the paperback version.

So…why give away these ARCs? Well, for two good reasons:

  1. Five lucky winners get to read the story of secret agent Lindy Tremaine and the tragedy of the planet Valya before everyone else…
  2. YOU, the winners, can provide honestspoiler-free reviews on your own blogs, Instagrams, podcasts, etc. And even if you don’t have a blog, you can always post your review on Amazon once Operation Lionhearted is published on October 13 🙂

Due to shipping costs and time, the three paperbacks are for U.S. ENTRANTS ONLY–but the two digital copies are specifically for entrants outside of the U.S. Needless to say, if you’ve already entered one giveaway, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE OTHERand if you do live in the U.S., please leave the digital giveaway for readers who live outside our borders!

Both giveaways end at 12 A.M. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. I will announce the winners on my blog that day. May the odds be in your favor 😉

Her planet’s future is at stake…but her past is on the line.

Lindy Tremaine is proud of her work with the Meridian Intelligence Department. Clever, courageous, and armed with an uncanny intuition, she is determined to protect the planets of the Kellan Star System from villains and schemers, even if it means going undercover as a fashion journalist.

Tragedy, however, lies beneath Lindy’s self-possessed demeanor. She is an empath, a native of the war-torn Valya, and the man responsible for her mother’s death—the former prince Rael Navorre—still rules her home planet with an iron hand. Haunted by fragmented memories of bloodshed, Lindy refuses to revisit Valya or embrace her heritage, preferring to invest in her career and her adopted family.

But now Lindy and her best friend, Jo Camrin, have received the most daunting assignment of their MID careers: they must protect Valya’s exiled royal family during peace negotiations with Rael. Committed to this mission despite her fears, Lindy soon uncovers a web of lies and technological horrors…as well as the best-kept secret in the Star System.

Official synopsis

BUT WAIT–I have one more announcement. Two weeks from today (on the 16th), I’ll be sharing a sign-up form for the Operation Lionhearted blog tour! And here’s the thing: I do NOT care how big or small your blog may be. I don’t even care if you primarily post on Instagram or host a podcast rather than a blog. I know dozens of articles online say, “Make sure you and/or your book are featured on sites with big followings,” but I personally think that’s a bunch of elitist nonsense. I want to do this online tour with my friends and readers, regardless of the size or nature of your platforms, and I want it to be fun for all of us!

Would you let me know in the comments section if you’d be interested in helping me with this? I’m thinking the tour would begin either the last week of September or the first week of October, depending on how many people respond here. And I’ve never done anything like this before, so if you have prior experience with blog tours, please send me all your tips and suggestions!

    1. I had honestly never heard of Maxwell Smart, so I went and googled him! Now I think I *may* have heard of this show before, but I’ve never seen it. It sounds like it’s pretty funny!

  1. Can’t wait to read your book!! My favorite detective would be Poirot. Haven’t read the books but watched the BBC series. Or Jigson from the Baker Family Adventures books. Those make great family read-alouds. I’m sure if I think long enough there would be more “favorites!”

    1. Hurrah!! I’m so glad you’re interested in the blog tour! The sign-up sheet will be available on the 16th 😀

I read a lot of Nancy Drew when I was a kid. My favorite one was a bit of an “Anastasia” retelling; if I recall correctly, there was a missing princess/heiress, and a jewelry box or something that she recognized and thus identified herself? I don’t remember all the details, but I do remember realizing, even at a young age, that it was based off the Anastasia myth.

  2. Lately I have been watching old episodes of Midsummer Murders and have really enjoyed watching Tom Barnaby solve all the cases and mentor his young protege’s.
I’m excited for you and hope the book is a HUGE success. I look forward to reading it!

  3. I’m a lurker and subscriber and eagerly following your process. My favorite fictional secret agent, besides the organization in my own novel, which boasts such members as fictionalized Frederick Abberline, is Illya Kuryakin(the old school version)! His willingness to sacrifice his comfort for the sake of a mission, and the fact that he doesn’t put on a front about it when he is in distress or pain is really refreshing. I also love the fact that so much mystery surrounds him. David McCallum says he came up with the idea that there were things about him that he wanted the viewer to always wander about, and cultivated that aspect early on. And the man once blew up an IGLOO! I can’t help but love that.

    1. Oh yes!!! I’ve only seen the new Man From U.N.C.L.E. movie, but I HAVE seen a few clips on YouTube of David McCallum’s Ilya! He does seem like such a fascinating character. Thank you so much for your comment!
